Perkiomen Valley senior midfielder T.J. Tagg has committed to play Division III lacrosse at King’s College.
Tagg scored 19 goals last year for the Vikings and has been a starter for two seasons. He plays club lacrosse for Black Bear’s Montgomery County team
Tagg, who also considered Division II Wheeling Jesuit, plans to major in education and perhaps become a History or Science teacher.
“I got a letter from King’s and took a visit and I met the coach (Andy Orlowski), and I really like what the program had to offer,” Tagg said of the Kingston (PA) school. “I did an overnight and met a few kids from the team and felt I clicked with everybody. I like the facilities and I think it can be a good program.”
The Monarchs went 3-12 last year. The team featured 15 players from the Philly area
Tagg first began thinking of becoming an educator when he worked a youth camp last summer for Black Bear in Avalon, N.J.
“I had always wanted to do something like that and I just really enjoy coaching kids,” he said.
Tagg is confident Perkiomen Valley will contend in the Pioneer Athletic Conference.
“We have nearly everyone back from last year,” he said. “I see our strengths at attack and defense.”
