Girls’ wrap: Strath Haven downs Penncrest in Central League opener

Emily Garrity collected six goals and five assists as Strath Haven, ranked No. 2 in the State Media Rankings, cruised past Penncrest, 17-7 Friday in a Central League girls’ lacrosse opener.

Annalise Penikis also had a big day, scoring five goals for the Panthers (3-0) while Kelly Ruffini netted four goals and Ana Whtie had a goal and three assists. Alex Duckenfield also scored and Lela Meunier (1 save) and Olivia Kerrigan (9 saves) handled the goaltending chores.

For Penncrest Nicole Lord and Marissa Restaino each had two goals and Caroline Moore contributed one goal and three assists while Taylor Adams and Mary Kate Manganiello each had a goal.

Colleen Doherty made seven saves

Bishop Shanahan 12, Pottsgrove 4

Liz Duke and Colleen Holmes each scored three goals and Jackie Donato and Allison Sweeney had two apiece for Shanahan. Ashley Zink and Kathrine Gosik each scored once and Sarah Iberguen dished three assists while Hannah Goforth had two assists and Maria Caridi had one. Megan Dunn made seven saves for the win

Ali Bainbridge led Pottsgrove with two goals.

Cheltenham 17, Upper Moreland 7

Olivia Dudo had five goals and Charlotte Swavola added three goals and two assists for the Panthers. Courtney Ellis, Karen Illuminati and Christi Torres each scored twice for the Bears.

Perkiomen Valley 19, Lansdale Catholic 5

Emily Beiswenger had four goals and Amber Gansz and Kelsey Metzler each had three for PV. Dani Colburn, Alexa Webb, Vanessa Molush and Katie Young each added a pair and Grace Malizia scored once. Kelly Brennan earned the win in goal. Kristin Smart led LC with two goals.

Upper Merion 13, Norristown- 6

Erin Brobson had three goals and two assists and Chrissi Gaudio added three goals and an assist to power Upper Merion (2-1, 2-0) to the Suburban One American Conference win. Devin Bowes and Julia Ehmer- each had two goals and Michelle Bowes had a goal and two assists. Kellie Manoppello and Madi Beyer also scored.

Trisha Taylor and Nicole Lobban each had two goals for Norristown while Kelley Cooney and Christina DiPietro each scored once.

Garnet Valley 13, Lower Merion 6

Allie Henry had six goals to lead the Jaguars to the Central League win. Natalie Lang and Tori Mitros each added two goals and Jamie Snyder, Jenna VanWyk and Jackie McGrath added one apiece while AnnaElise Morellohad two assists. Kate Stroup had 12 saves for the victory.

Wissahickon 19, Plymouth Whitemarsh 7

Ashley Bossert had four goals and four assists, Aubrey Bossert had four goals and three assists and Anne Bracaglia and Alexa Mohr added three goals apiece to lead the Trojans to the Suburban One American Conference win. Jessica Scannapieco added 10 saves and three interceptions. Megan Piotrowicz led PW with six goals.

Phoenixville 14, Upper Darby 10

Upper Dublin 11, Springfield-Montco 8

CB West 7, Pennsbury 6

Abington 12, Council Rock South 6

Great Valley 19, Avon Grove 5
