Girls’ wrap: Notre Dame edges Baldwin; Episcopal Acad., Penn Charter earn Inter-Ac League wins

Katie Blumenthal scored four goals and Maggie Corcoran had three goals and two assists as host Notre Dame edged Baldwin School, 15-14, today in Inter-Ac League girls’ lacrosse.

Megan McCullough contributed three caused turnovers and four draw controls to lead the defense as the Fighting Irish (9-3, 3-2) avenged a 19-14, early-season loss to the Beats (8-2, 4-2). Baldwin entered play ranked No. 8 in the PA Media Rankings.

Sloan Warren paced Baldwin with eight goals and two assists and Maggie Mae Shields added five goals and one assist. Stephanie Salvitti also scored for the Bears and Ali Pedersen made eight saves.

Episcopal Academy 17, Springside School 9

Megan Spahnola had three goals and two assists and Avery Curley added three goals and an assist and Kelley Moore contributed two goals and four assists as EA (13-4, 7-0) coasted to the Inter-Ac win.

Penn Charter 15, Germantown Academy 12

Allison Thompson and Kellie Ragg each scored four goals as PC (5-6, 3-3) earned the

Inter-Ac win over GA (11-7, 3-4).  Olivia Mann led the Pats with four goals.

Radnor 20, Conestoga 7

Sam Ellis exploded for 10 goals and Courtney Campbell added four while Kelyn Freedman had three lead the No. 1 Red Raiders (11-0, 6-0) to the Central League win. Taylor Mallory had three goals for the Pioneers.

Strath Haven 18, Lower Merion 4

Julie Hayward had eight goals and Annalise Penikis collected four goals and four assists while Emily Garrity piled up three goals and eight assists for the Panthers.

Springfield-Delco 16, Marple Newtown 6

Shannon Burns scored five goals and Sam Tulskie notched three to lead the Cougars (11-2, 7-1).

Ridley 12, Penncrest 11

Becky Donkin (two goals, three assists) scored the game-winner with 19 seconds left and Jenna Massimo had four goals as the Green Raiders prevailed. Caroline Moore netted five goals for Penncrest.

Villa Maria 16, Sacred Heart 9

Kathy Young scored four goals and had two assists and Chelsea Fay added four goals while Meghan Kellett added two scores to lead ninth-ranked Villa Maria (11-1).

Staphanie Finley had four goals and two assists for the Lions while Claire Fitzpatrick added two goals.

Mount St. Joseph 13, Nazareth Academy 6

Merion Mercy 25, Villa Joseph Marie 19

Downingtown West 7, Bishop Shanahan 4

Morgan Obendorfer had five goals and Casey Kellogg scored twice as the Whippets dumped the Eagles in the Ches-Mont League. Emily Murdaugh made nine saves for Downingtown West.

Lauren Glassey led the Warriors with five goals.

West Chester East 16, Avon Grove 2

Amanda Erb tallied four goals to lead East.

Bayard Rustin 13, Sun Valley 3

Jen Walsh netted four goals to lead the Golden Knights.

Springfield-Montco 23, Norristown 4

Christina DiPietro led the Eagles with a pair of goals in the Suburban One American loss. Trisha Taylor and Beverly Pate also scored for Norristown.

Plymouth-Whitemarsh 12, Upper Moreland 6

Meg Piotrowicz pumped in seven goals and Katie Miller made 10 saves for the Colonials in the Suburban One American victory. Alisha Pagano had two goals and one and Karen Illuminati added one goal and one assist for the Bears while Sarah Baumgardner had nine saves.

Cheltenham 19, Upper Merion 6

Pottsgrove 14, Phoenixville 10

Ashley Delaney had six goals to pace the Falcons.

Owen J. Roberts 16, Perk Valley 9

Emily Kolsevick, Gabby Lochetto and Nicole Miller each scored four goals as the Wildcats rolled to the PAC-10 win. Kelsey Metzler led PV with two goals.
