Sloan Warren poured in six goals and added three assists and Maggie Mae Shields added four goals while Stephanie Salvitti and Jennie Wigrizer each had three to lead host Baldwin School to a 19-14 victory over Notre Dame today in an Inter-Ac League girls’ lacrosse opener.
Baldwin is 2-0 overall while Notre Dame – ranked fourth in the PA Media Rankings – fell to 4-1.
The Bears broke open a 10-9 game by outscoring the Fighting Irish, 9-5, in the second half. Emily Acker, Allice Matthai and Hilary Gray also score for Baldwin and goalie Ali Pedersen made nine saves while Arden Simone was strong at midfield and Charlotte Damico, Kristin Feinberg, Jessica Kane and Lauren Rhodes played strong on defense.
“Every player contributed to this win: all attack players scored and all of the defense played well,” said Baldwin coach Kathleen Simone. “That’s what will carry us far this year: we are solid across the board; we don’t have any holes.”
Strath Haven 26, Harriton 11
Annalise Penikis pumped in eight goals and added four assists and Emily Garrity had six goals and five assists while Ana Whitenetted six goals and Kelly Ruffini had four as the No. 2 Panthers (5-0, 3-0) dealt the Rams their first loss in the Central League game.
Julie Hayward added two goals and an assist for the Panthers and Alex Duckenfield contributed two assists. Lele Meunier (4 saves) and Olivia Kerrigan (3 saves) shared the goaltending duties for Strath Haven.
Carli Sukonik had six goals for the Rams (6-1, 2-1) and Jess Schwab had four while Jess Rothstein had one.

Theresa Brady scored three goals while Taylor Mallory and Britta Hjelm added two apiece to lead the Pioneers (2-0, 2-0) to the Central League win. las

Becky Donkin led the Green Raiders (4-2, 2-0) by piuring in six goals.

Kimmy Keating collected four goals and four assists and Emily Corcoran added four goals and one assist to lead Merion Mercy to the Catholic Acadmies League win. Caili Guilday had eight saves for the win. Nicole Schuster scored four goals for the Mount.
Hatboro-Horsham 13, CB West 5
Lauren Purvis scored five goals and Sarah Tustin added four to pace the Hatters to the Suburban One Continental Conference win. Alex Taratuski added a pair of goals and Nicole Beck and Caroline Hagan added one each. Jackie Kimmel made eight saves.
CB West got three goals from Morgan Ashworth and once apiece from Tori Veland and Cathy Marston. West goalie Alyssa Batty made 20 saves.
North Penn 19, CB East 6
Lauren McDermott amassed six goals and three assists and Abbie Hartman added five goals and an assist three assists to lead the Maidens (5-0, 1-0) to an easy win in their Suburban One Continental Conference opener.
