Conestoga senior midfielder Peter Bowers has made a verbal commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Tufts University (MA). Tufts is part of the New England Small College Athletic Conference.

Bowers, named Central League honorable mention, was a key member of the Pioneer team that went 24-2 and won the first District 1 boys’ championship last year before reaching the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Atheltic Association finals. Bowers had 25 goals and over 15 assists during a season that saw Conestoga go undefeated in the Central League.

Bowers, named a winner of the Spirit United Lacrosse/Phillylacrosse.com Underclassmen Honor Roll last year, is a member of the National Honor Society and is active in Young Life.  His GPA is 4.7.

Bowers also is a member of the Mesa Fresh 2010 club team that will travel to the Dick’s Sporting Goods Tournament in Florida this New Year’s for the second time.

Bowers joins a large list of Conestoga seniors that have committed to colleges. Ben Ross (Franklin & Marshall) and Austin Campbell (Denison) have committed to Division III colleges while Casey Ikeda and Ryan Lord (Maryland), Ryan Buttenbaum and Matt Smith (Lehigh), Austin Rogusky (Loyola), Peter Zonino (Hobart) and Jason Klunder (Drexel) have committed to Division I colleges
