College honors: ODU’s Kellogg (Downingtown West), F&M’s Summers (Hill School); Holy Cross’ McGeehin (Malvern Prep)

    Old Dominion junior Ashley Kellogg (Downingtown West) was named to the WomensLacrosse.com National Honor Roll this week, for her performance in a pair of Lady Monarch victories.

    Kellogg had nine points on eight goals and an assist as she led Old Dominion past George Mason and No. 20 James Madison in Colonial Athletic Association action this week.

    Kellogg had five goals against the Patriots and also netted the game-winner. Against the Dukes, Kellogg had the last two goals in regulation, which evened the score and forced overtime. She also had an assist on the final goal in overtime, giving ODU the 11-8 win. Her effort helped lead ODU on a 9-3 run after halftime to clinch the big conference win.

    The ODU junior on attack added to her already career-best season and ranks second on the team in goals and points. She now has 35 goals and 41 points, and has added three game-winning goals and a team-high seven free-position goals. She ranks 39th in the nation in goals per game (2.92) and 68th in points per game (3.42).

    Kellogg joins rookie teammate and goalie Sarah Geary (Springfield-Delco) as this players honored by WomensLacrosse.com so far this season. Last week, Geary was named the National Rookie of the Week by WomensLacrosse.com.

F&M’s Summers (Hill School) is Centennial Offensive Player of Week

    Franklin & Marshall’s Shannon Summers has been named the Centennial Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week.

    Summers had another big week, scoring five times and assisting on 11 other tallies for 16 points in a 2-0 week for the fourth-ranked Diplomats. She also won five draws and picked up six ground balls.

Holy Cross’ McGeehin (Malvern Prep) earns another honor

    Holy Cross freshman Colin McGeehin (Malvern Prep) has been named the Turfer/New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Co-Player of the Week. He

scored six goals and had two assists for eight points in two contests, including his first two collegiate game-winners. He was just recently named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for this performance, marking it the second time he earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors this season. 

    McGeehin scored two goals including the double overtime game-winner in the 12-11 win at Vermont on April 7, while he had a career-best four

goals and a career-best six points in the 9-4 win over Marist on April 11, as he also had two assists. He also scored the game-winner.
