Boys’ wrap: Fords thrash Friars, EA escapes with win over PC

    Stephen Aitken scored four goals and Will Horrocks had three goals and four assists as host Haverford School routed Malvern Prep, 15-5, today in an Inter-Ac League boys’ game.

    Liam O’Connor and Joe O’Rourke each added two goals and Brendan McGrath had a goal and three assists for the Fords (11-7, 3-2), ranked No. 7 in the PA Media Rankings. No. 6 Malvern fell to 5-7 and 2-2 in the Inter-Ac.

Episcopal Academy 7, Penn Charter 6  

    Cody Isdaner (two assists) and Britt Potter scored fourth-quarter goals and Matt Lerman made 10 saves as the fourth-ranked Churchmen (10-5, 4-1) strengthened its hold on first place in the Inter-Ac with a come-from-behind win.

    PC was leading, 6-4, late in the third quarter until EA rallied. Tyler Olsen had a goal and two assists for the Churchmen while Andrew Gordon and John Gormley added one apiece.

Conestoga 11, Radnor 8

    Austin Rogusky scored four goals, Peter Bowers had three and Jason Klunder added a pair as the No. 2 Pioneers (13-1, 7-0) made a major step toward winning the Central League crown. Conestoga, which trailed, 6-5, at one point in the third quarter, also got goals from Ryan Lord and Jeff Chu. Robbie Norton led the fifth-ranked Red Raiders (11-3, 6-2) with three goals while Jeff Puckette, Matt Cherry, John Dougherty, Harrison Lawrence and Will Lawlor each scored once.

Lower Merion 7, Strath Haven 6  

    Andrew Mongeluzzi and Jordan Wolf each scored two goals to lead the Aces (9-4, 5-3) to the Central League win. Jack Morrison, Ahmad Zachary and Scott Benson scored once each for Lower Merion and Cody Hurnung had 11 saves. The Panthers (7-7, 5-3) got two goals and two assists from Dave Alyanakian. two goals from Sean McGraw and nine saves from goalie Will Torrence.

Ridley 8, Penncrest 7

    Tyler Johnston and Pat Zimmerman each had three goals and an assists to lead the Green Raiders to the Central League win. Dan Jones and Craig Kashner each had three goals for the Lions.

    Jake Syre and Jake Hoffbaurer each had two goals while Sean Riley and Kevin Fonio each had one goal for the Royals. Dylan Burke had 13 saves for UD. Mark Clinton had three goals for the Fords while Pete Dorseneo and Casey Curry each had one goal and Jim McKenna had 10 saves.

Garnet Valley 13, Harriton 4

    Ben Simms had two goals and Noah Levin and Rob Schwab each scored once for the losing Rams.

Pennsbury 12, Council Rock North 11, OT

    Kenneth Warren scored the game-winner in overtime and Peter Sweetland had five goals, including the game-tying goal late in regulation, as the Falcons (8-5, 6-0) remained undefeated in the Suburban One National Conference. Sweetland sent it into OT with two minutes to play.

    Doug Rheiner led the Indians with five goals and Tyler Hamilton added three. Pennsbury won 18 of 25 face-offs.

    Andrew Protenic had seven goals to lead the Vikings to the Ches-Mont League win. Chris McCormick added two goals and three assists and Ben Tuscai had one goals and one assist while Blair Bonner had two goals. Justin Laxton made 14 saves for East.

    Kyle Marcks had four goals and an assist and Shane Sturgis and Kenny Maas each had three goals and two assists as the eighth-ranked Cougars (13-2, 8-0) continued to roll in the Ches-Mont. Taylor Nelson added two goals and an assist for DE while Matt Normoyle and Kevin Barth each made four stops in goals.

    Ethan Heisman notched four goals and Billy Latta added three for the Warriors.

    Frank Jackson and Donnie Krausse each had four goals for the Vanguards (11-3, 6-1).

New Hope-Solebury 13, George School 5  

    John Cimbalista and Kevin Fabrizio each had four goals and two assists to lead the Lions to the victory. Alex Coleman added three goals and Carter Robinson each had a goal and an assist for NHS.  Matt Allegretto, Pat Carvalaho, Matt Gregory and Seamus Foster each had assists.

    Kohl Batdorf  had four goals and an assists and Billy Higgins and Connor Kelly each scored two goals for the Wildcats (15-1, 12-0). Eric Horn had three goals for PV and Justin Morgan and Pete Sclafoni each scored twice.  Methacton 14, Phoenixville 5     Shane Denecke had four goals as the Warriors claimed the PAC-10 win. Boyertown 16, Souderton 1     Jake Reidenauer pumped in five goals to lead the Bears past the Indians in a non-league game.Sean Baker scored the lone goal for Souderton.
