Boyertown claimed the 5th Annual Lax4Lives Charity Tournament championship Tuesday by defeating Abington, 20-18, in the title game at the Sportsplex in Feasterville. Boyertown started just 1-2 in pool play, but knocked off the No. 1 seed from the West Division, Council Rock North, in the first round of the playoffs, and then Notre Ghost (Notre Dame/Holy Ghost Prep) by a 19-6 count in the second round.
The 10-team tourney raised $5,000 for the HEADstrong Foundation and its fight to cure blood cancer through awareness and development. Below is a picture of the winning Boyertown team.
