Several highly-rated players from outside of the Philadelphia region will be competing in the inaugural Philly Lacrosse Showcase Saturday at Episcopal Academy.

Junior midfielder Bryan Barry, of Duxbury, Mass., played for the New England squad in the Under Armour Underclassmen games this summer. Barry helped Duxbury (19-3) win its fifth straight state title.

Another player coming from New England, Ridgefield junior attackman Aidan Scott, helped his team go 20-2 and reach the Class L state semifinals.

From New York, one to watch is junior attackman Kevin Teresky. He helped Walt Whitman finish 16-3 last year.

From California, a third member of the state champion St. Ignatius Prep squad has been added to the event. Junior defenseman Nick Fotsch earned a spot on the California Gold Invitational this summer.

As reported earlier, St. Ignatius also is sending junior midfielder John Gibbons and defenseman Chase Whittingham. Both were ranked last year ampong the top players in the West region by http://www.westsidelax.com.

The Philly Lacrosse Showcase will draw 325 of the top boys’ lacrosse players in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond to Episcopal. More than 100 coaches are committed to attend the recruiting event, which will feature players in the sophomore, junior and senior classes. Each players is guaranteed to play in three games. Three all-star teams, called the “Fab Forty” squads, will be chosen to play in the afternoon. The 16 teams will be coached in the morning by the top Philly high school coaches, who will team up to coach the “Fab Forty” all-star games
