Sun Valley senior midfielder Krissy Finn has signed an National Letter of Intent to play Division 1 lacrosse at Saint Francis University.

Finn was a Ches-Mont League Third Team pick for the Vanguards last year. As a sophomore, she was a Del-Val League First Team selection when she tallied 43 goals. She also received Del-Val Honorable Mention as a freshman.

Finn also escels in the classroom. She was an Academic All-American in 2009, and a member of the National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society.

Finn, who plans to major in Art Therapy, chose Saint Francis because of its size. “I have always wanted to go to a small school,” she said of the Loretto, PA campus. “It is a small school, with a big school feel to it.”

She also felt comfortable the girls on the lacrosse team at St. Francis. “The girls on the team are so nice and they all have the same love for lacrosse that I do,” she said.

Saint Francis is coached by fourth-year mentor Steph Marcon, a former Lafayette College great.

Finn, who plays club lacrosse for Lenape Premier, is hopeful the Vanguards can improve in 2010 after transitioning to the rugged Ches-Mont League in 2009.

“My time at Sun Valley has been great,” said Finn, who last year was named the team’s mop midfielder. “The past season was kind of rough. It was more of a rebuilding season.

“I am hoping for a better record for the upcoming season. Now we know what to expect.”
