Radnor senior goalie Beau Brady has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Delaware.

Brady was a Central League Honorable Mention pick in 2009 when he helped the Red Raiders go 15-4 and tie for second place in the league.

During the summer, Brady enjoyed much success for Team HEADstrong at various tournaments. He also played for Team Philly in the adidas National Lacrosse Classic and earned notice at Jake Reed’s Blue Chip camp.

“When I started out during my junior year and made a list of colleges, I sent out an e-mail to Delaware and never heard back,” he said, adding he plans to major in Business Management. “But at Jake Reed’s Blue Chip I played the best I had ever played and I got a phone call in July from Delaware.

“The campus is beautiful and it’s not too far from school. The coach (32-year mentor Bob Shillinglaw) has been there a long time and I can learn a lot from him.

“Everything fell into place; my grades fit in, it was the perfect fir for me.”

Brady said he blossomed during the summer season.

“Toward the summer everything kind of clicked for me,” he said. “I got stronger and faster and after I committed I was not so stressed out I just started playing the game.”

Brady will be joined at Delaware by Tatnall (DE) midfielder Jackson Keeler. Radnor has one other Division I signee; midfielder Harrison Lawrence (Lehigh).

Brady is optimistic that the Red Raiders will continue to contend even though they got his hard by graduation.

“We did graduate say, seven of 10 starters,” he said. “We have a lot to prove. It will be a rebuilding year, but we have some younger guys who have stepped up and we should be able to give some (top teams) competition.”
