Lower Merion senior defenseman Ari Weisband has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Ursinus College.
Weisband was an Honorable Mention All-Central League pick last year for the Aces,
who finished 17-6 and reached the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association playoffs. Weisband also played in the Eastern Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association Showcase.
Weisband, an Honor Roll student, plans to study Business and major in Economics. He said he was impressed with Ursinus head coach Jamie Steele and the campus at Ursinus.
Weisband will be one of several key returnees for the Aces, who also return Division I signees Jordan Wolf (attackman, Duke), Andrew Mongeluzzi (attackman, Towson) and Ahmad Zachary (midfielder, Vermont).
“I think we can make a good run and make it to states,” Weisband said. “We should be able to compete with the top teams in the Central League and we hope to finish in the top three.”
