Second-year transition player Geoff Snider of the Wings broke or tied three different NLL single-season records this season. Snider set a league mark with 244 loose balls, breaking the record of 226 set by league great Jim Veltman.
Snider also matched the single season record for face-off wins with 318. With this mark he tied teammate Peter Jacobs, who won the same number of face-offs during the 2005 season. Snider had a 73.8 percent face-off winning percentage on his way to tying the record, which is second in league history to his own record of 75 percent, which he set in 2007.
Snider also was no stranger to the penalty box in 2008, as he also set the record for most penalty minutes in a season with 103 total minutes. The Washington Power’s Brian Reese had the mark of 98 minutes worth of penalties in 2002.
In 2008 Snider was second on the Wings in assists with 38 and fourth in total points with 51.
