Former Haverford College assistant and Haverford High graduate Candace Taglianetti has been named the third head coach of La Salle University’s women’s program.
Taglianetti comes to La Salle after serving as the head coach at Notre Dame College (OH) for the past four years. Taglianetti, who was named the head coach at Notre Dame College at the program’s inception, helped build and maintain the program which ranked in top ten nationally in several statistical categories and did not lose a home game in 2008.
Upon graduation from Ohio State, where she was a two sport student-athlete and won the school Scholar-Athlete Award in 2002, she became an assistant at Haverford College and was eventually named interim field hockey coach.
Taglianetti becomes the third lacrosse coach in La Salle history after the sport was established at La Salle in 1998. The Explorers went 1-15 last year.
