Eight-time Catholic League champion Archbishop Carroll announced that seven of its seniors signed with Division I schools this week during the early signing period.

Twin sisters Alexandra and Carolyn Burns (both defenders) will stay together and attend Old Dominion while attacker Amanda Salata and midfielder/attacker Ryan Yankowich signed with La Salle.

Other signees for the Patriots were defender Marlee Hagan (Monmouth), midfielder Kaitlin Harris (Drexel) and attacker Maggie Mauer (George Mason). This group will make Carroll a favorite again and a legitimate power as it enters the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association with the rest of the Catholic League.

“This is an outstanding group of scholar athletes that are motivated and hard working,” said carroll coach Lorraine Beers. “They have a love for the sport and care tremendously about each other as teammates.

“This particular group has forged many bonds through three years of club lacrosse and lacrosse trips to Florida. These connections will tie them together throughout college and throughout life. I am so thankful to be a part of the Carroll family.”

The early-signing period extends until Wednesday. The following is a list of Philly Division I signees; it is headlined by two of last year’s first-team picks, Abington goalie Alisha Aquilino (St. Joseph’s) and Strath Haven midfielder Emily Garrity (North Carolina).
