Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Rankings: All Top 10 teams to play at Katie Samson event

Note to lacrosse fans: This Saturday, all 10 teams in the sixth Phillylacrosse.com Scholastic Boys Top 10 Poll will compete in the Katie Samson Lacrosse Festival at Radnor.

1. La Salle (18-1) – The red-hot Explorers got three goals from Matt Lynch and won their 17th straight Tuesday, 10-6, over pesky Abington, helping them move to fourth in the nation in the STX/Inside Lacrosse National High School Rankings. They host Archbishop Ryan Thursday and then gear for No. 4 Ridley Saturday at the Katie Samson Festival. Last week: No. 1.

2. Malvern Prep (10-2) – The Friars handled Penn Charter, 9-5, Tuesday in a key Inter-Ac League game. They play at Episcopal Academy Thursday and meet Abington Saturday at Katie Samson. Last week: No. 2.

3. Haverford School (8-4) – The Fords clipped Inter-Ac foe Germantown Academy, 11-5, Tuesday as Ben Bourke tallied four goals. They host Chestnut Hill Thursday and play No. 8 Downingtown East at Katie Samson. Last week: No. 3.

4. Ridley (12-1) – The Green Raiders moved to 5-1 in the Central League with a 20-3 rout of Marple Newtown Tuesday as Scott Johnston pumped in four goals. They host Garnet Valley Thursday and then knocked heads with No. 1 La Salle in one of the feature games at Katie Samson. Last week: No. 5.

5. Penn Charter (9-4) – The Quakers dropped Inter-Ac games to No. 3 Haverford School (12-3) and No. 2 Malvern Prep (9-5). They host Germantown Academy Thursday. Last week: No. 4

6. Conestoga (9-2) – The. Pioneers improved to 4-1 in the Central League with a 10-3 triumph Tuesday over Penncrest as Steve Zecca scored three goals. They play at Haverford High Thursday and meet Lawrenceville (N.J.), ranked 20th in the Inside Lacrosse national poll, at Katie Samson. Last week: No. 6.

7. Downingtown East (7-5) – The Cougars won their fifth straight Tuesday, a 14-4 rout of Henderson. They play Bishop Shanahan Thursday and meet No. 3 Haverford School at Katie Samson Saturday. Last week: No. 9.

8. St. Joseph’s Prep (11-3) – The Hawks have been cruising in the Catholic League and travel to Neumann-Goretti today. They face an interesting test Saturday against Radnor, the host team at Katie Samson,. Last week: No. 7.

9. Springfield-Delco (9-3) – The Cougars claimed a 12-4 Central League win over Strath Haven Tuesday as Joe Arrell tallied four goals. They host Harriton Thursday and meet No. 10 Germantown Academy at Katie Samson. Last week: No. 8.

10. Germantown Academy (6-4) – The Patriots fell to Haverford School, 11-5, Tuesday and need to get back on their feet for Thursday’s Inter-Ac game at Penn Charter. Last week: No. 10.

Under consideration: Abington, Episcopal Academy, Lower Merion, Garnet Valley, Central Bucks East, Great Valley.
