Matt Mackrides (Malvern Prep/Penn State freshman) collected four goals and three assists and James Green (Central Bucks East/Ohio State junior) added two goals and an assist while Matt Dolente (Malvern Prep/Johns Hopkins sophomore) dominated the X to lead the U.S. to a 25-5 rout Thursday over England in the International Lacrosse Federation U-19 World Championship at Coquitlam, British Columbia.

The win vaults the unbeaten Americans into Saturday’s title game (2:30 p.m.) against Canada, a 23-12 winner over the Iroquois Nationals in Thursday’s night’s other semifinal.

The U.S. led, 11-3., at halftime, and never looked back. Dolente won 15 of 20 face-offs (75 percent) and Mackrides had two goals and two assists in the second quarter. Andrew Feinberg (McDonogh HS/Brown ’11) and midfielder Nick Elsmo (Severn HS/Virginia ’11) scored four goals apiece for the U.S.

The U-19 team (6-0) improved to 35-0 all-time in international competition and will try to claim its sixth straight ILF U-19 title.
