On April 17 The Haverford School lacrosse team will host the second annual Checking for Cancer Lacrosse Tournament, featuring many of the top scholastic boys’ lacrosse teams in the country. The Foundation is dedicated to helping fund research and raising awareness of Prostate, Colorectal, and Testicular cancer.

This year’s tournament, in its second year, will be expanded to a 12-team field.

Nostrant, a survivor of prostate cancer said, “It should be a great day of lacrosse, and hopefully through our efforts, we can raise awareness of these terrible diseases, and at the same time, also raise funds for research. We have five great local teams and seven highly ranked teams coming in from other areas.”

In addition to the Haverford School, other local teams include Radnor, Conestoga, La Salle and Hatboro-Horsham. Traveling here for the tournament are Chatham (N.J.), Darien (CT), Delbarton School (N.J.), Fairfield Prep (CT), Garden City (N.Y.), Georgetown Prep (MD) and Yorktown (N.Y.).
