Men’s recruit: Lower Cape May senior attackman Frankenfield commits to Wagner College

Lower Cape May Regional (N.J.) senior attackman Mike Frankenfield has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Wagner College.

Graduation Year: 2012
Position: Attackman
College Choice: Wagner College
Also of note: Frankenfield is the third South Jersey senior to commit to Wagner in recent weeks; the others are St. Augustine Prep twins Pat and Bill McMenamin.
Major lacrosse honors: 2011AC Press 1st team all-star, 2011 Star Ledger 3rd team all South Jersey all-star, Top 205 Rising Junior and Senior camp, F-4 Showbine; for 2011 season 43 goals and 13 assists
Academic honors: National Society of High School Scholars, National Honor Society, First and Second Honors and Spotlight Student.
What will you major in/study? Sociology/ Criminal Justice Concentration
Why did you choose school? “I chose Wagner College because of what they have to offer from great academics to athletics, the feel of the campus, location, reputation of the coaching staff and the opportunity to play.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year?
“We want to qualify for the NJ State Playoffs for the first time in our program’s short history.”

Other comments: “I want to thank my High School coach Frank Zilnek for all his help and support. Also, Wagner head coach Matt Poskay and assistant coach Casey Martin they have been exceptional, very helpful and supportive from the beginning. On my visit they were very welcoming though the whole process and made me feel a part of the Wagner family. I also thank my friends and family for their support.”
