Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 3/18/11

For the second time this season, the Haverford School boys’ lacrosse team will be broadcast on the Game of the Week by Kudda.com, which airs high school events in the Baltimore area.

The Haverford School-McDonogh (Md.) game will be available to watch online at approximately 6 p.m. Saturday. The game begins at 1 p.m. in Owings Mills, Md. The Fords (2-0) are seeking their third win over an MIAA team, having defeated St. Paul’s (10-9) and Loyola Blakefield (11-6). Haverford School remains the top-ranked team in the country by Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse and ESPN RISE (Powerade Fab 50 poll).

All kudda.com games can be accessed by going to game.kudda.com. Once again, the play-by-play announcer will be Booker Corrigan (Radnor grad) while Inside Lacrosse staffer Ty Xanders will provide the commentary.

Saturday games

Also Saturday, Malvern Prep – which shared the Inter-Ac League crown with Haverford School last year – opens its season Saturday when it hosts Loyola Blakefield (md.) at noon. The Dons already have lost to two Inter-Ac teams, Penn Charter and Haverford.

Also Saturday, The Hill School travels to Calvert Hall (noon) to open the season.

Altschuler has 15 saves for Hill Academy

Senior goalie Hank Atlschuler, a former Lower Merion standout, had 15 saves Wednesday for Hll Academy (Ontario, Canada) in its 19-7 loss at Calvert Hall (Md.).

Altschuler, who is committed to Hofstra, was a starter last year for the Aces and helped them reach the state playoffs for hte second straight year. He transferred to The Hll Academyi in the fall.
