Phillylacrosse.com is pleased to announce it has launched a new series of instructional videos called the “Video Tip of the Week” courtesy of the Philadelphia Wings.

The first “Tip of the Week” is hosted by Wings forward Bill McGlone, a Ridley High product in his second year with the team and fifth season in the National Lacrosse League.

Click here to access the “Tip of the Week” homepage. It also can be accessed on the Phillylacrosse.com homepage menu bar.

McGlone was a two-time US Lacrosse All-American at Ridley and led the Green Raiders to back-to-back state championships in 2001-02. He also was an all-state football player.

McGlone was a three-time All-American at Maryland and was drafted with the 3rd pick of the 4th round on the 2006 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft by the Chicago Shamrox. He was named to the All-Rookie team that year. McGlone later played for the Toronto Rock, which traded him to the Wings prior to the 2010 season.

Last year he had 19 goals and 16 assists for the Wings. Has had two goals in the Wings’ opener Saturday night (10-6 loss to the Boston Blazers) and has scored 115 points (61G, 54A) in 58 career NLL games.

McGlone also was selected 13th overall in the 2006 Major League Lacrosse Draft by the Baltimore Bayhawks. He later played under current Wings assistant coach Tom Slate as a member of the now-defunct San Francisco Dragons in 2008, and has played the past two years for the Chicago Machine.

On March 24, 2007 in his rookie year for Chicago of the NLL, McGlone played in front of his hometown crowd versus the Philadelphia Wings. In honor of high school teammate, Nick Colleluori, who died from non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in November 2006, McGlone donated his game salary to the HEADstrong Foundation for Cancer Research.
