Methacton senior goalkeeper Ryan Murphy has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Gwynedd Mercy College.
Murphy (95 saves) helped the Warriors finish 10-7 and advanced to a play-in game for the final Pioneer Athletic Conference playoff berth last year. He plays club lacrosse for Twist.
Murphy plans to major in Business Management at Gwynedd Mercy.
“I chose Gwynedd Mercy because the team got along like a family and I felt like I would fit right in,” he said.
Murphy is the second Warrior to commit to a Division III college. Attackman Cody Ridgway has committed to Eastern. Also, defenseman Anthony DeSana has signed with Division II Seton Hill.
Murphy is confident the Warriors will challenge in the PAC-10 in 2011.
“My expectations are to make the playoffs and win the PAC-10,” he said.
