Corner Canyon (UT) 2015 midfielder/face=-off specialist Zack Franckowiak has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Drexel University.

High school: Corner Canyon HS, UT

Graduation year: 2015

Position: Midfield / FO

College choice: Drexel University

Club affiliations: West Coast Starz/Utah Blackhawks Starz

Lacrosse Honors: Utah High School Lacrosse League (UHSLL) All-State and All Region (2014); ADRLN High Rollers All-Star (2013, 2014); ADRLN Shootout Showcase All-Star (2013); ADRLN Challenge Del Mar All-Star (2014, 2015); Jake Reed Nike Blue Chip

Academic Honors: Eagle Scout; 3.95 GPA; High Honor Roll Student every quarter in HS

Major: Pre-medicine

Why did you choose Drexel: “I chose Drexel because I have always wanted to play Division 1 lacrosse and at an institution that offers an excellent education as well. My ultimate goal is to attend medical school so I wanted to make sure that I found a school that would help me achieve that goal. I also had a great recruiting trip with Coach (brian) Voelker and his staff. It was a tough decision with schools like BYU and Boston University also in the running.”

Outlook for 2015 HS Season: “As a second year school, we are looking to make a run to the state championship. We still have a sour taste in our mouth after last year’s loss in the (state) championship. However, only losing four seniors, we are excited to make a statement to the state.”

Thank You: “There have been many people who have helped me out along the way. However, there are a few individuals who have continually worked hard on my behalf and helped get me where I am today – Mike Isbell, Steve Dunn, Dan Mannix, Jono Zissi, Mark Davis, and my parents.”

Maplezone Sports Institute, the official sponsor for Phillylacrosse.com boys’ recruits, congratulates Zack Franckowiak. MSI is located on Conchester Highway (Rt. 322) in Garnet Valley, offering Offering private, group, and team training. Training programs are made for each individual skill set and player.
