Alex Ives log:

Alex Ives
Alex Ives

High School: Salisbury School, CT (formerly Horace Greeley, NY)

Graduation Year: 2016

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Saint Joseph’s University (ConnectLAX college profile)

Club Affiliation: LI Sting

Major lacrosse honors, camps and showcases: Blue Chip 225 All Star, Warrior Diamond Showcase All Star, Moonlight All Star, LI Sting A Team, Top 205 All Star, Under Armor Shootout, Quakerfest, National Invite 175, Harvard Shootout.

What will you major in/study? “Undecided – but I will be exploring Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Political Science and History.”

Why did you choose school? “When I was deciding on which school I wanted to attend, what I was really looking for was a strong mix between great academics and great athletics which St. Joe’s absolutely offers. Also, be able to play for Head Coach Taylor Wray and Assistant Head Coach Dan Keating – along with the great staff at St. Joe’s – influenced my choice as well.”

Outlook for your High School team? “It is very very good. We have a team that’s fully loaded – and that includes a bunch D1 and D3 commits. We are a very tight group of guys committed to winning.”

Other comments “First, I would like to thank my parents, from their constant and enthusiastic support, I wouldn’t be here without them. I would also like to thank my coach at the Salisbury School Bobby Wynne for constantly helping me throughout the entire process – AND – thank my club coach with the LI Sting Ken Miller for pushing me, always advocating for me, and getting me in front of the right people. Lastly, I’d like to thank all my teammates.”

Other schools considered: Boston University, Ohio State, Fairfield, Rutgers, Richmond, Marquette, Franklin Marshall, Wesleyan, Amherst, Salisbury, Denison, Washington College, Goucher, Skidmore
