Rasool Smith, a sophomore midfielder from Lower Merion, has made the roster at Division I Detroit Mercy after transferring from Rosemont College.
Smith, who played with the The Re-Education Foundation (TREF) club program in North Philadelphia, is a transfer from Rosemont College.
Smith was named to the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) All-Academic Team last year at Rosemont and was second on his team and led all CSAC freshman in scoring with 29 points and 24 goals. He also had 40 groundballs and eight caused turnovers.
Smith also earned varsity letters in cross country, golf, basketball and football at Lower Merion and helped the team win the AAAA Pennsylvania State basketball championship in 2013.
Smith is a Pre-Law major.
