St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) freshman LSM/defenseman Tyler “Gooch” Senerchia has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Bucknell University.

Major lacrosse honors, All-Star teams, Camps, Showcases: Jake Reed Nike Blue Chip; National Invitational 175; Yale Bulldog 120; Bucknell Bison Brawl All-Star; Terrapin Classic; Philly Freshman Showcase Fab 40 All-Star

What will you major in/study? Economics

Why did you choose the school? “I knew it was the right fit. The rich history of the school and the strong legacy of the lacrosse program was what I was looking for. The Bucknell coaching staff was great to deal with and I am looking forward to playing for them down the road. Academically, Bucknell is one of the top universities in the nation.”

What is your team’s outlook for next season? “As a St. Anthony’s Friar, you know you will be surrounded be excellent players and coaches on every level. I’m pretty confident that our outlook will be bright.”

Other comments: “I would like to thank Coach Chanenchuk (St. Ants); he was the first coach to teach me how to throw and catch a lacrosse ball and has guided me all the way through to the committing process. I also want to thank Coach Doug Schreiber (St. Ants), Coach Ric Beardsley, Coach Jon Lynott, my parents, my teammates and everyone who has helped me through this process, and of course the LI Express.”
