Spring-Ford High School junior midfielder Zach Hare has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at St. Joseph’s University.

Zach Hare log:

Zach Hare
Zach Hare

High School: Spring-Ford

Graduation Year: 2015

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Saint Joe’s

Club Affiliation: Dukes LC

Major lacrosse honors: Crabfeast Champions, Tri-State Summer Invitational Champions, Nike Blue Chip rising Sophomore camp, Second team All-PAC-10 Sophomore year, Honorable Mention All-Area team Sophomore year

Academic Honors: Honor Roll Freshman and Sophomore year, Habitat for Humanity

What will you major in/study? Secondary Education

Why did you choose St. Joe’s? “When I first stepped on campus I knew Saint Joe’s was the place for me. The school had everything I was looking for. I was especially impressed with the coaching staff. Coach (Taylor) Wray, (Dan) Keating, and (Steve) Grossi are turning the program around and making a statement. I am really looking forward to being apart of the program in the future.”

What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “Last season we won our Conference Title in double overtime, but unfortunately came up short in the first round of the District playoffs. This season, after losing a very talented senior class, our program is going to need everyone to step up if we want to be as successful as last year.”

Additional Comments: “I would like to thank my Mom and Dad for everything they have done for me through the recruiting process. Also for all the countless hours they have spent driving me to and from lacrosse events.

“I would also like to thank coaches Ebe, Christmas, Vetrone, and especially Fallon along with the rest of the Duke’s LC staff for everything they have done for me throughout my High-School career. Also I would like to thank my high- school coaches; Coach Donnelly, Czapor, Capone, and Lambert for everything they have done to make me a better person and lacrosse player.”

Other schools considered: Lehigh, Hofstra
