Katie Melvin

Player Name: Katie Melvin

High School: Harriton High

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Attack

College Choice: The University of Michigan

Club Affiliation:
Quaker City

Major lacrosse honors: All Central second team, All-Phillylacrosse.com second team, Main Line Athlete of the Week, PASLA team

What will you major in/study? Psychology

Why did you choose the school? “Michigan is a fantastic school on its own, and once I met Coach U (Jennifer Ulehla) and the rest of the staff, I knew then that I wanted to go and play there. I feel like I will fit in well at Michigan.”

What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “The past season was certainly filled with memories. I’m very proud of my team for what we accomplished last season, and hopefully this coming season will go well too.”

Other comments: “I’d like to thank all of my friends and family for helping me and supporting me through this, and I would also like to thank my teams (Quaker City and Ramlax), because I wouldn’t be the player I am without them. I would also like to thank Mrs. Coach D for being so great. The biggest thank you, other than to my parents, goes out to
Coach Dick. Coach D has been the only lacrosse coach that I’ve ever really had, and I couldn’t ever thank him enough for the great impact he’s had on both my lacrosse career and my life in general.”

Other schools considered? Richmond, Saint Joe’s, UC Davis
