PA State Independent Schools tourney: EA, Friends’ Central will meet for title

Kristen Hinckley scored five goals and MC Curran added four while Lindsey Reder was a standout with 15 saves in goal as host Episcopal Academy defeated Notre Dame, 15-9, today to advance to the championship game of the PA Independent Schools tournament.

Top-seeded EA will face second-seeded Friends’ Central in the title game at a site, day and time to be determined. Friends’ Central toppled Agnes Irwin, 14-11, in the other semifinal.

Schuyler Aitken added three goals for EA

Katie Schneider had four goals and three assists sand Delaney Tuite tallied three goals for Notre Dame.

Friends’ Central 14, Agnes Irwin 11

The Phoenix (19-2) advanced to the title game as Bianca Newton scored four goals and
Ashley Tedesco had three goals and three assists while Emma Dahle added two goals and four assists.

Emily Fryer collected three goals, four draw controls and three caused turnovers while Hannah Keating added three goals and three draw controls for Agnes Irwin, which finished 13-9 with a very young team after going 2-16 last year.
