Live blog of Inter-Ac Invitational semis: Haverford School 9, EA 8 FINAL

We are here at Cabrini College for the semifinal matchup of the Inter-Ac Invitational between Episcopal Academy and Haverford School.

The winner faces No, 1 seed Malvern Prep Wednesday at Cabrini at 7 p.m.

1st Quarter

HS – Connor Keating scores for HS off the face-off, :11

EA – Tyler Chambers from Curtis Zappala, 9:28
EA – Zappala unassisted – 8:46 – EA up 2-1

HS – Reilyl Hupfeldt ties it from Peter Blynn, 6:21
HS – Grant Ament scores unassisted to give Fords a 3-2 lead, 5:20
HS Reilly Hupfeldt gives Fords a 4-2 lead from Jeff Odiorne, 2:34
HS – Drew Supinski scores from Grant Ament with 39.6 secs left and the Fords have 4 straight goals and a 5-2 lead

End Quarter

HS – Peter Blynn scores unassisted to keep the run going, 10:13

EA – Churchmen score first goal since 8:46 of first period as Peter Gayhardt scores from Dutch Buckley, 6:27
EA – Zappala from Ian Strain makes it 6-4 in a hurry, 6:17
EA – Strain from Zappala, 5:32 – now 6-5

Both goalies have two saves – Colin Reder (EA) and Alex DeMarco (HS)

end first half

EA – Matt Ernst wins FO and scores, 11:51

HS- Colin Bosak wins FO and feeds Gavin McBride for a goal immediately after, 11:46

EA – Gayhardt from Zappala, man up goal, 5:00 to go – now 7-7

HS- Brooks from Supinski on a 2 EMO chance, 3:50 left – 8-7 Haverford

38.9 secs left in quarter and we have numerous fouls after major collision

End 3rd quarter

HS – McBride unassisted makes it 9-7 Haverford with 5:40 to play!

EA – Chambers scores with a blast at 2:57 to make it a 9-8 Haverford lead

1:04 to play – HS has possession and calls TO
Alex DeMarco made the save and Brendan Burke grabs the GB for Fords

EA had one last chance to score, but never got a shot off after gaining possession in the box with 17 seconds left
