Catholic League boys’ playoffs: Cardinal O’Hara, Wood advance to semifinals

Zach Long had four goals and an assist and Ryan Gallagher added two goals and an assist as host Cardinal O’Hara toppled Archbishop Ryan, 11-7, Friday in the first round of the Catholic League boys’ lacrosse playoffs.

The fourth-seeded Lions (13-6) advance to the semifinals Monday where they will play at top-seeded and defending champion La Salle at 4 p.m.

Dan McNamara added a goal and two assists and Tim Coyle had 10 saves for O’Hara.

Shane Taylor led Ryan with four goals and an assists and Mark Ostaszewski posted 17 saves.

Archbishop Wood 19, Archbishop Carroll 4

The third-seeded Vikings (13-5) rolled to the semis where they will play Monday at St. Joseph’s Prep at Fairmount Park’s Edgely Field at 4 p.m.

Chris Rahill had four goals and an assist, Keith Becker had four goals and one assist and Ray Kent tallied four goals. John Berthcsi added three goals, an assists and two groundballs while Connor Schultz contributed two goals, two assists and seven groundballs.

Wood fell to St. Joe’s Prep, 10-9, when the teams met in the regular season on April 24
