The cavaliers’ season came to an end at No. 2 Salisbury University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cavaliers end the 2013 campaign with an overall record of 11-8.

The loss also closes the careers of seniors Christina Pasquariello (Harriton) and Kaitlyn Smith. The ladies appeared in a combined 125 games. Pasquariello totaled 151 career points, including 98 goals and 53 assists.

On the defensive side, Smith scooped 59 ground balls and caused 21 career turnovers. The duo also led the Blue and White to a four year conference record of 29-3 and raised three CSAC championship trophies.

The Cavaliers fell behind early as the Seagulls imposed their will on both sides of the field. Salisbury opened the scoring just over three minutes into play and never looked back.

Freshman Nathalie Basunga (Springfield-Delco) netted Cabrini’s lone goal, her 45th of the season with 3:41 left in the first half. The rookie also claimed a game high nine draw controls.
