Monday’s HS highlights: HH girls’ clinch crown, Friends’ Central tops Mount St. Joseph

Rachel Rausa collected eight goals, eight draw controls and four groundballs to spark Hatboro-Horsham to an 18-11 victory over host Pennridge Monday, clinching the Hatters their second straight Suburban One Continental Conference championship.

Hatboro-Horsham (11-0 league, 13-2 overall) has won 26 straight leagues games. The Hatters can cap a second straight undefeated league campaign by defeating North Penn on Wednesday.

Colby Eldridge had three goals for the Hatters and Casey Swezey added two goals and three assists while Katie McKay had two goals and six draw controls.

Friends’ Central 11, Mount St. Joseph 9

Sophie Macfarlane had five goals, Emma Dahle added two goals and an assist and Aubrey Faggen made 12 saves to help the Phoenix claim a key non-league win.

Dominique Nyzio scored three goals for the Mount.

Owen J. Roberts 13, Spring-Ford 11

The Wildcats won the PAC-10 Final Four Play-In game as Devin Hassinger scored four goals and Jess Harsch added two goals and three assists while Devon Hennessey posted 16 saves.

Sasha Wozniak had four goals and an assist for Spring-Ford

Boys

Penncrest 14, Interboro 8

Will Manganiello scored his 100th career goals and finished with four goals and an assist and Dylan Protesto had a goal, and three assists and won 20 of 24 face-offs for Penncrest

Boyertown 15, Perkiomen Valley 6

The Bears won PAC-10 Play-In Game as Tyler Fuhrman erupted for six goals and two assists and Chris Lee scored three while Austin Mutter posted 12 saves.

Hatboro-Horsham 10, Downingtown West 7

Jimmy Murphy had three goals and two assists and Zach Erwine scored three goals while Marc Poust had 14 saves to help the Hatters win a game for District 1 seeding.

Somerville 9, Moorestown 8

Michael Handlan scored three goals, but the Quakers dropped their first game of the year.
