From Press Release

After completing a pair of unbeaten conference slates, the Cabrini men’s and women’s lacrosse teams clinched the top seeds in the upcoming colonial States Athletic Conference tournaments. The men will host Marywood University on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., while the women face Immaculata University on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.

Both games will be played at Edith Robb Dixon Field.

The No. 5 Cabrini men closed the regular season 12-3, winners of nine consecutive games. With a 6-0 conference mark, the Blue and White have now won 96 consecutive conference games, a streak that extends to 120 with CSAC Tournament games.

Marywood, the tournament’s number four seed, sports a 5-10 overall record, including four wins in six CSAC contests. The Pacers secured their playoff berth with a 13-11 win over Centenary in their season finale, handing the Cyclones just their second loss of the season. Marywood netted seven unanswered second half goals to clinch the victory.

The Cavaliers hosted the Pacers on April 13 and came away with a 22-2 victory. The Blue and White scores the first 17 goals of the game en route to the victory.

After recording the program’s 10th undefeated league schedule, the Cabrini women enter their tournament with an overall record of 9-7. The Cavaliers secured a bye into the semifinal round on the strength of their 8-0 conference mark. The Blue and White was honored for their play last week, as the team collected 12 CSAC End of the Year Awards, including Coach of the Year Jackie Neary, Player of the Year Lacie Doubet (Ridley) and Rookie of the Year Nathalie Basunga (Springfield-Delco).

The Mighty Macs (11-6, 5-3 CSAC) advanced to Wendesday’s semifinal round after defeating Notre Dame (Md.) 16-4 in Saturday’s opening round game. The Cavaliers and Mighty Macs matched wits on April 16 at Edith Robb Dixon Field, a game the Blue and White won 18-8.

The winner of Tuesday’s men’s semifinal will meet the winner of the day’s second semifinal between number three seed Gwynedd-Mercy (8-5, 4-2 CSAC) and second seeded Centenary (12-2, 4-2 CSAC) in Saturday’s CSAC championship game.

The winner of Wednesday’s women’s semifinal will meet the winner of the second semifinal matchup between second seed Neumann (13-4, 7-1 CSAC) and third seed Marywood (6-8, 6-2 CSAC) in the conference title game, also to be played on Saturday.
