Matt Heim scored with a minute remaining in overtime as host Central Bucks East defeated rival Central Bucks West, 10-9, Monday night in Suburban One Continental Conference boys’ lacrosse.
The win spoiled a stunning comeback by the Bucks (5-6, 3-4), who scored six goals in the fourth quarter, including three in the final minute to send it into overtime.
Sam Piccone (two goals), Riley Kratzke (three goals) and junior Jimmy Seykot (one goal, one assist) each scored in that final minute.
Heim had three goals and an assist while teammate Matt Milici had two goals and three assists. For East (10-2, 6-1) Matt Schmidt added a pair of goals, and both Zach Kane and Geoff Kuhn had one goal and one assist.
Jimmy Steigerwald each had a pair of goals and Corey Schott added one goal.
Cole Rushworth won 17 of 23 face offs for the Patriots and Sean McGovern was credited with 14 saves. Peter Donavan led East’s defense with five ground balls.
For the Bucks, Matt Harvan was credited with 12 saves.
