From Press Release

The Philadelphia Wings will travel to Rochester Saturday to play the Knighthawks in the first round of the National Lacrosse League playoffs.

The 5 p.m. game that will be broadcast live nationally on the CBS Sports Network.wings

At 7-9, the Wings are the No. 3 seed in the East Division and enter the playoffs with the same record the defending champion Knighthawks had going into the playoffs last year, before rattling off four wins on their way to the 2012 NLL Championship.

Philadelphia and Rochester have met three times this season, with the Knighthawks beating the Wings twice. The Wings snapped a losing streak against Rochester this season, defeating the Knighthawks in late February at Blue Cross Arena for the first time since 2009.

Historically, the Philadelphia and Rochester rivalry has been dominated by the Knighthawks. The two teams have met 41 times in the regular season, the Knighthawks lead the overall series 28-16.

However, in the playoffs the teams have split four games, as each team has won twice. The two teams met in the post-season last year, resulting in a 14-13 win for Rochester in the first round of the playoffs.

A Wings first round playoff win against the Knighthawks on Saturday, coupled with a Toronto loss to Minnesota would result in the Wings hosting a second round playoff game at Wells Fargo Center. For more information on playoff tickets, please visit www.WingsLAX.com/playoffs.
