Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Rankings: Inter-Ac League race heats up this week

The Inter-Ac League race heats up this week as Episcopal Academy hosts Malvern Prep on Tuesday and Malvern hosts Haverford School on Friday when EA also plays at Penn Charter.

1. Malvern Prep (7-0) Prev: No. 1 – The Friars have quite a week, playing Tuesday at No. 2 Episcopal Academy and hosting No. 4 Haverford School on Friday.

2. Episcopal Academy (7-3) Prev: No. 2 – The Churchmen host No. 1 Malvern Prep in an Inter-Ac League showdown on Tuesday.

3. La Salle (5-2) Prev: No. 3 – The Explorers host Conestoga on Friday in a rematch of last year’s state final.

4. Haverford School (7-3) Prev: No. 5 – The Fords have won seven in a row and looked good doing it. They host Springside Chestnut Hill on Tuesday and then play Friday at Malvern Prep.

5. Radnor (6-2) Prev: No. 6 – The Red Raiders hosts Conestoga Tuesday in a key Central League game.

6. Avon Grove (8-0) Prev: No. 7 – The Red Devils have a key Ches-Mont game Tuesday at Great Valley.

7. Penn Charter (8-6) Prev: No. 4 – The Quakers had a tough week, losing all three of their games. They look to bounce back Tuesday at Germantown Academy.

8. St. Joseph’s Prep (3-4) Prev: No. 8 – Back to the Catholic League schedule for the Hawks, who have taken on several non-league our-of-state powers in the early season.

9. Conestoga (4-4) Prev: No. 9 – The Pioneers played one of their best games in Saturday’s 5-3 loss to No. 2 Episcopal Academy as they gear for Tuesday night’s Central League showdown at Radnor.

10. Salesianum School (5-2) Prev: NR- Sals had two big wins last week, 12-5 over La Costa Canyon (CA) and 15-2 over St. Augustine Prep.

11. Moorestown (4-0) Prev: No. 12 – The Quakers host two-time defending TOC champion Bridgewater-Raritan today.

12. Manheim Township (9-1) Prev: No. 13 – The Blue Streaks host 9-0 Hershey today.

13. Central Bucks East (8-1) Prev: No. 15 – The Patriots have a big Suburban One Continental game Tuesday at much-improved Central Bucks South (6-2).

14. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (7-2) Prev: No. 10 – The Blue Devils play Tuesday at Haverford School.

15. Ridley (6-2) Prev: No. 11 – The Green Raiders play Tuesday at Penncrest.

Under consideration: Bishop Shanahan (5-2), Garnet Valley (5-3), Great Valley (5-3), Lawrenceville School (6-3), Owen J. Roberts (6-1), Shawnee (6-0), Springfield-Delco (4-3), Upper Dublin (7-1).
