ReQRuitme boys’ recruit: Northeast High senior MF-ATT Ragan commits to Walsh

Northeast High School senior midfielder-attackamn Matthew Ragan has made a commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Walsh University (Ohio).

Ragan is the first Public League player and LEAPS graduate to commit to play college lacrosse.

Position: Middie/ Attack

College Choice: Walsh University, Ohio

Club Affiliations: LEAPS, Bucks Select

Major lacrosse honors: Voted Captain Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years. Made second team All-Public Freshman year and first team All-Public since Sophomore year; Played in the Philly Showcase

Academic Honors: Honor Roll

What will you major in/study? Physical Therapy

Why did you choose Walsh? “I chose Walsh because it was small and clean. Everything was right there and it was very convenient. They had my major and like Northeast High, they are building a brand new lacrosse program and I hope to leave an impact when I graduate.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “Right now we are undefeated and I am hoping for a Three Peat.”

Additional Comments: “I would like thank my cousin Kieran Ragan for introducing me to the game and getting me to try out and play lacrosse; my coach, Frank Kerwood, for getting me involved with LEAPS and helping me play for a summer club team; finally, my Doctor for making it possible for me to continue playing the game that I grew to love.”
