Nominations have been requested for Penn Select U13 Team to represent Region at US Lacrosse Championship

Penn Select is a Philadelphia Regional All-Star team assembled and coached to compete in the US Lacrosse U13 US Lacrosse Championships at University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA June 21-23, 2013.

In 2012, 85 elite U13 players from the region competed for 24 roster spots. The final roster represented 6 counties, 26 township and club teams, and 18 schools – a true regional all-star team. The 2012 squad competed in the US Lacrosse Championships in Raleigh, NC and walked off the field as Tournament Champion with a 5-0 record for the weekend. It was a tremendous experience for the players.

Note: Penn Select is NOT designed to replace a player’s township or club team. Practice times will be scheduled to minimize conflicts.

Penn Select is coached by top local coaches (Inter-Ac and HHH/Dukes).
The Penn Select mission is narrow and focused: Compete to win the US Lacrosse Championship title, eight practices to prepare

Nominations and tryouts:

NOTE: This is NOT an “open” tryout. Players must be nominated by their coach. You will be asked to confirm your nomination during on-line registration by providing your coach’s Name, Organization, and Email Address.

Coaches are expected to understand the competitive nature of these tryouts and are expected to exercise discretion in the recommendation process to promote safety and help ensure that the evaluation process is meaningful for everyone. Evaluators must make tough decisions in a limited time and the process is not served by sending players who don’t have a legitimate chance to make the team.

Prospective players will be evaluated during a 3-day mini-camp.

Eligible players (see “Eligibility”) must register on-line, prior to camp. No walk ups will be admitted.
 


Players should plan to attend all 3 sessions. It is possible to miss a session due to conflict and still be named to the final roster.
