Wednesday’s girls’ HS highlights: Friends’ Central tops Agnes Irwin, 16-15 in OT thriller

Emma Dahle had five goals and two assists, including two late tallies in overtime as visiting Friends’ Central claimed a thrilling 16-15 win over Agnes Irwin Wednesday in non-league girls’ lacrosse.

Dahle won it with nine seconds left in the OT frame on a free position.

Emily Tedesco added four goals and an assist and Sophie Macfarlane scored four goals for the Phoenix (4-1) and Aubrey Faggan made 19 saves. Maria Pizzini had five caused turnovers and two groundballs to lead the defense.

For Agnes Irwin (2-3), Kristin Burnetta collected five goals, two groundballs and two draw controls and Hannah Keating added four goals, two assists and three draw controls. Bridget Chakey added two goals and three assists, Laura Pansini had two goals, an assist, five groundballs and two draw controls and Elizabeth Spitz led the defense with three groundballs and four draw controls.

Burnetta’s goal with 1:45 left in regulation sent it into OT at 13-13. Agnes Irwin scored first in the extra time, with junior Chakey setting up freshman Keating off a freshman Pansini draw control. Burnetta added another, but FCS senior Dahle converted two key free position shots with less than 30 seconds to win it.

Methacton 11, Pottstown 7

Alexa Maloney scored four goals and Ellie Schmidt added three goals and three assists to pace the Warriors to the PAC-10 win.

Kelsey Shoemaker scored three goals for the Trojans.

North Penn 18, Pennridge 6
Kaitlin Suzuki and Hannah Young each had five goals and an assist to lead North Penn to the Suburban One Continental win.

Southern Lehigh 13, Saucon Valley 5

Lilly Shields had three goals and three assists and Cailyn Breski made 13 saves to lead Southern Lehigh.
