Tuesday’s girls’ HS highlights: Case ties school mark with 10 goals in Haverford High win; duPhily leads Kennett

Amanda Case tied a school record with 10 goals as host Haverford High defeated Lower Merion, 16-15, Tuesday in Central League girls’ lacrosse.

Case tied the mark set by two-time All-American Katrina Geiger (now at Loyola).

The Fords improved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the league.

Lindsey Grabell also had a big day for the Aces, scoring eight goals.

Kennett 10, Bayard Rustin 9, OT

Sophie duPhily had the game-winner and score four goals to lead the Blue Demons (1-1).

Toni Massetti added three goals for Kennett.

Kristen Hoy and Paige Jenkins each scored three goals for Rustin.

Downingtown East 17, Bishop Shanahan 10

Caroline Ambrogi fired in nine goals and Nicole Barretta added four to lead the Cougars (1-1 league) to the Ches-Mont League win.

Alex Wendig led the Eagles with three goals.

Unionville 14, Avon Grove 9

Demming Carlow and Katie Garvey both scored three goals for the Indians (2-0 league).

Lara Knittel led Avon Grove with four goals and one assist.

Wissahickon 17, Upper Merion 8

Zoe Gomez had five goals and an assist and Laura Frankenfield poured in four goals for the Trojans in the Suburban One American.

Haley O’Malley led upper Merion with three goals.

Central Bucks East 21, Jenkintown 9

Mary Kate Schwartz had eight goals, including the 100th of her career for the Patriots in the non-league win.

Emma Dillon had five goals for Jenkintown.

Upper Dublin 14, Springfield-Montco 8

Rachel DiFrangia had six goals and handed out two assists while Taylor D’Ginto contributed five goals and one assist, and Julie Cross added three goals and two assists for the Cards in the non-league win.

Colleen Morris led the Spartans with three goals.
