Saturday’s boys’ roundup: Penn Charter wins 5th in row

Long stick midfielder Charles Giunta collected 12 face-off wins, 11 groundballs, five take aways and a goal and goalie Sean McKee made 19 saves to lead host Penn Charter to an 11-7 victory today over Cardinal O’Hara in non-league boys’ lacrosse.

Kevin Murphy had two goals and two assists for the Quakers (5-3), who won their fifth straight game. Ray Vandegrift and Brandon White each had two goals and an assist.

Joe Simpson had three goals and an assist and TJ Reiley scored three for O’Hara while Tim Coyle posted a whopping 27 saves.

Avon Grove 12, Pennsbury 1

Tanner Peck had two goals and four assists and Will Schreiner made seven saves for the Devils, who improved to 3-0.

Henderson 10, Central Bucks West 3

Owen Evans had two goals and three assists and Spencer Rymiszewski added two goals and two assists while Chase Heisman made nine saves in goal for the Warriors.

Abington 13, Germantown Academy 5

Brian Gallagher had three goals and two assists and Joe Lomady scored three times while Blake Friedman made nine saves to lead the Ghosts to the victory.

Max Derham scored three goals for GA.

Ward Melville (NY) 14, Garnet Valley 4

Brock D’Annunzio scored twice for the Jaguars in the loss on Long Island to the perennial power.

Delaware
Tower Hill 12, St. Andrews School 1

Five goals by Michael Pettit, two each by Grier Wakefield and Brett Hinckley paced the Hillers in their opener.
