Last weekend’s Delaware High School roundup:

Girls

Cape Henlopen 9, Holy Cross (MD) 8

Five goals by Anna Frederick and four by Sarah Young paced the Lady Vikings to their 30th straight win, an opening-day 9-8 triumph over Academy of Holy Cross.

Archmere 18, Brandywine High 3

Five goals by Katelyn Payne, three by Charlotte Rath, Caroline Dougherty, two by Alyssa Salvitti and teammate Presley Conaty paced the Lady Auks of Archmere to a win over the Lady Bulldogs of Brandywine High. Holly George led the Lady Bulldogs with two goals.

St. Mark’s 17, Middletown 15

Eight goals by Haley Schweizer, four by Morgen Moran and two by Lindsay Crawford paced the Lady Spartans of St. Mark’s to a win over the Lady Cavaliers of Middletown. For the Lady Cavaliers, Kristin Rossi led with six goals, three by Katherine Thompson and Alexia Johnson and two by Emily Pantazes.

A.I. DuPont 12, Newark 2

Six goals by Sarah McLaughlin, three by Elizabeth Shields and two by Tess Hanley paced the Lady Tigers of Alexis I Dupont to a win over the Yellowjackets of Newark.

Ursuline 20, Red Lion Christian 7

Nine goals by Mary Abram (ties a school record for most goals in a game) along with five by Maddie Hughes, three by Emily Blaszkow and two by Brooke Schumesser paced the Lady Raiders of Ursuline to a win over the Lions of Red Lion Christian. For the Lions, Miriam Fleger led with three goals and two by Becky Bove.

Boys
Mt. Pleasant 5, William Penn 4

Three goals by Christian Thompson paced the Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant to a win over the Colonials of William Penn. For the Colonials, Greg Seibert led with two goals.

Caravel 11, St. George’s 0

Three goals by Jacob Shiner, Wilson Forney and Zack Weldin and two by Zack Ferguson paced the Bucs of Caravel to a win over the Hawks of St. Georges.

Dover High 16, Joppatowne (MD)

Four goals by Joshua Clendenial, three by Asani Edmunds and two by Godfrey Webb paced the Senators of Dover High to a win over Joppatowne of MD.
