Sunday’s college roundup: West Chester women win; CHC men fall

Lauren Glassey (Henderson) had five goals and two assists and Haley Nelson (Downingtown East) scored four goals as visiting West Chester routed Belmont Abbey, 25-6, today in Division II women’s lacrosse.

Jaime Dolan had three goals and an assist and Brittany Long (Henderson) scored three goals for the Rams (2-0).

Division I
Louisville 9, Drexel 8

Colleen O’Malley (Great Valley) scored once and Cortnee Daley (Hatboro-Horsham) had an assist for the winning Cardinals (7-1).

Kelli Joran (Downingtown East) and Alissa Watts each scored twice for Drexel (6-2).

Old Dominion 9, St. Joseph’s 7

Emily Austerberry (Boyertown) had three goals and an assist to lead ODU.

Julia Falcone (West Chester East) had four goals for the Hawks (5-2).

Penn State 20, Vanderbilt 14

Ally Heavens (Garnet Valley) had two goals to help the Lions. Alyssa Dunlap (Radnor) collected four draw controls and a caused turnover for Vanderbilt.

Men
Division II
Wheeling Jesuit 13, Chestnut Hill College 8

D.J. Klusaritz scored three goals, but Chestnut Hill dropped the road contest.

Craig Owen (Haverford School) and Michael Melnychenko each added two goals for CHC (3-3).
