Why did you choose Iona? “I chose this school because I know that it will prepare me well for the future, and it has all of the qualities that I am looking for in a college. Committing to a college is a big decision, especially if you are going to stay there for 4 years.

“I knew that I was going to have to prove to myself and my parents that this was the place for me. Looks aren’t always everything. Yes the campus is gorgeous and is a contributing factor to why I chose it, but I wanted the whole package to be right for me.

“I am usually not a picky person but with a decision like this I made sure that there was a good science department, good food, a friendly campus environment, and a place that I could call home. I wanted a place that wasn’t in the middle of a city where I’d be afraid to cross the street, but have trees and nature and a small town feel. At the same time, I wanted there to be a lot of life and excitement which is what Iona gives me, it’s only 18 miles from Manhattan.

“I also chose Iona because I wanted to go to a medium sized school. I am a friendly and outgoing person and Iona has the intimate setting that would be very beneficial to my academic studies. As I think about Iona now there is not a doubt in my mind about my decision. When I think of Iona I think of success, challenges, and a path to a bright future. GO GAELS!”

What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “My High School team’s outlook for the season seems pretty strong. We have quite a few new girls on the team but with the help of our coaching staff and the dedication they have to making every practice worth while, it will certainly pay off when it is time for games. With the amount of heart that our team has I think that we can handle any situation as long as we have a stick in our hands and North Penn written across our chests.”

Additional comments: “I would like to thank first and foremost my parents Frank and Renee DiDomizio for always supporting me in whatever I do and always being there for me. They always set good examples and I am proud to work together with them on anything. We make the perfect team.

“I would also like to thank my club coaches Sherry Russell and Nancy Offner for helping me through the whole recruiting process and dedicating their time to give me the best lacrosse experience outside of school.

“Also, my high school coach Jami Wilus Behm, is one that I have to thank for making me the best player I can be.

“Finally, my brother Hunter is one that I have to thank for always supporting me at my games and being someone to pass with, when just playing with my rebounder gets boring.”

Other schools considered: Ohio State, Vermont, UCONN
