From Press Release

The coaches of the Colonial States Athletic Conference have selected the Cabrini College men’s lacrosse team as the favorite to 2013 CSAC crown, the league announced.

The Blue and White is seeking its 13th consecutive CSAC championship in 2013. The Cavaliers received all seven first-place votes, and 49 points total, followed by Gwynedd-Mercy College with 37 points and Centenary College third with 33.

Led by 2012 CSAC Coach of the Year Steve Colfer, the Cavaliers return 10 players who garnered All-CSAC honors in 2012, including Player of the Year senior goaltender Erick Zarzecki and Rookie of the Year faceoff specialist Anthony DiNenno (Avon Grove).

Zarzecki recorded a school record 17 victories in 2012, while leading the nation with a 4.90 goals against average. The senior recorded 148 saves, while his 0.624 save percentage ranked 13th nationally.

DiNenno made an immediate impact during his rookie season, ranking second in the nation with a 0.69 faceoff win percentage, the second highest percentage in the country. DiNenno secured a school record 116 ground balls.

Both are also among a quintet of Cavaliers who were named Preseason All-Americans by InsideLacrosse.com. Senior Bobby Thorp (Cherokee) received First Team honors, while senior Andrew Kvech and DiNenno garnered Second Team accolades. Zarzecki was named to the Third Team and senior Tyler Grau received Honorable Mention.

Cabrini will open its conference schedule on Wednesday, April 3 when it visits Centenary College.
