On Sunday February 24th the Philadelphia Wings will not only be taking on the Colorado Mammoth at the 4 PM at the Wells Fargo Center, they will also be putting on the gloves against blood cancer.
This effort is in support of the HEADstrong Foundation, a non-profit organization that advocates, fundraises and supports those affected by blood cancers and those working towards eliminating it.
The Philadelphia Wings have had a longstanding partnership with the HEADstrong Foundation. In 2011, the team took the field wearing lime green jerseys which is the color associated with the HEADstrong Foundation and their national awareness platform supporting blood cancer. A post game jersey auction helped to raise over $17,000 to support their services.
This year the Wings will wear limited edition Lime Green gloves which will be auctioned off with proceeds supporting HEADstrong’s service mission. Supporters are encouraged to bid on their favorite players gloves.

For Wings players Kevin Buchanan and CJ Costabile, both who serve as HEADstrong’s player spokesmen this game means a lot more.
