Men’s rankings: Chestnut Hill is No. 9 in USILA preseason poll

Already receiving a No. 8 national ranking from InsideLacrosse.com (11/29/12) and a No. 10 national ranking from Lacrosse Magazine (1/4/2013), Chestnut Hill College weas given a No. 9 national ranking in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

The 2012 Griffins spent six consecutive weeks in the USILA Coaches’ Poll (2/27-5/7), topping out at #8 for a two-week period (3/19 and 3/26) and finishing their second season under Head Coach Brian Dougherty at 8-6 overall and 5-5 in the East Coast Conference (ECC).

Fellow ECC members who also appeared on the USILA preseason rankings included No 1 Dowling College, No. 8 New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), and No. 10 Long Island University (LIU) Post. The USILA Coaches Polls are voted on by a selected group of coaches from across the nation.

The men’s lacrosse team will ring in the 2013 season when they travel up to Syracuse, New York, on February 23 for a 2:00 p.m. contest against Le Moyne College.
