Lacrosse programs from around the country are gearing up to be part of the HEADstrong Foundation’s 4th installment of Score For A Cure™.
This program engages teams in a season-long community service project, turning their statistics into a fun and interactive competition with proceeds supporting the HEADstrong Foundation.
Beginning this February, players and teams will be able register at https://www.firstgiving.com/headstrongfoundation/score-for-a-cure-2013. A participation fee of $20.00 will apply and players under the age of 18 must have parental consent before registering. Participants will receive the Official Score For A Cure Player Pack which includes: S4C Fundraising URL, S4C Reversible Lax Tank and a 2013 Game Stat Tracker.

Score For A Cure™ fulfills a community service requirement for students and also serves as an amazing team building opportunity. It encourages players to solicit pledges based on total team goals, assists, groundballs and/or saves. The campaign is open to both boys and girls teams.
The key to this fundraiser is informing your supporters, boosters, family and neighbors about the impact that your season is going to have on those dealing with blood cancers. Their ability to pledge ($.10-.25) per goal, assist, groundball and/or save will allow the HEADstrong Foundation to strengthen their commitment to serving those affected by the disease. By utilizing your fundraising URL you can keep your supporters updated on your teams progress.
Running from February 1st-May 31st, 2013, Score For A Cure™ challenges you and your team to not only have the best game record bur the best service record. Players have the ability to receive incentives from campaign sponsors: Brine, Inside Lacrosse and Lacrosse.com including: annual subscriptions, gift cards and HEADstrong equipment. The overall individual male and female fundraiser will each receive a Head-to-Toe Brine/HEADstrong Prize Package valued at over $1,500 and the overall fundraising team will be outfitted with HEADstrong Back Packs compliments of SCOUT by Bungalow.
“Participating in Score For A Cure™ is a great way to give special meaning to your lacrosse season,” said Cheryl Colleluori, HEADstrong President and Nick’s Mom. “Adding a category for assists, groundballs and saves this year gives a dynamic that allows all players to be engaged in fundraising.
“Our hope is that lacrosse coaches will incorporate Score For A Cure into their 2013 season and view it as a team building opportunity which helps their players to recognize the positive influence that they can have on their community and others.”
