Merrilee Viguers log:

Merrilee Viguers

College Choice: West Chester University

Major Lacrosse Honors: Played for the Pennsylvania team in the Brine National Tournament 2012 and came in 2nd. My high school team had an undefeated record in the regular season in 2012. Best Attitude award at West Chester’s team camp 2012. Upper Atlantic Tournament champs and All American Showcase champs in 2011.

Academic Honors: Honor Roll (throughout high school) and President Obama’s Student Service Award (bronze level)

Intended Major: Kinesiology

Why did you choose West Chester: “West Chester University has always been very near and dear to my heart. It has been a part of my life ever since I was little, from swimming lessons to basketball tournaments, West Chester had been a home away from home. When I was given the opportunity to play for their lacrosse team I couldn’t say no. What made it all the better was knowing I will have spectacular coaches and will be playing alongside a great bunch of girls in a highly respected program.”

High School Team’s Outlook: “In traditional Great Valley stature we are striving for nothing but perfection, seeking the ultimate goal of STATE CHAMPS! We have been training all winter and are ready to attack our tough schedule. I feel we will shock many teams who now doubt our capabilities after losing an amazing senior class last year. We are very excited for this season.”

Other comments: “I would like to thank all my coaches (Coach Dougherty, Coach Norsoph, Coach Keevan, and Coach Tornetta) for their guidance as they assisted me with the wildly confusing recruiting process. In addition I want thank all my teammates for all the fun times and memories; I couldn’t have done it without them. Finally, I would like to thank my family for all the times they woke up at the crack of dawn to take me to games/practices and for all the money they spent. But most importantly I thank them for all their love and support; always cheering me on every step of the way.”
